Kimbo vs. Gannon
March 8th, 2007
In 2005, Kimbo Slice fought Sean “The Cannon” Gannon in a private building with a grappling mat on the floor. A large crowd was present, from Gannon’s supporters to Kimbo’s Crew.
Gannon puts in his mouthpiece and turns to face Kimbo, who is standing angrily with his fists up. The crowd bursts into a noisy cheer as Kimbo and Gannon collide.

Kimbo is a good street fighter but he ain’t ready to step up to the MMA fighters just yet. He should have made quick work of Gannon but just gassed way too early. The Gannon fight was the roughest fight I have ever witnessed! How both of those guys could take that kind of punishment for so long leaves me amazed.
I heard that Gannon did not do all that well fighting against other skilled ultimate fighters, which makes me question Kimbo’s chances against more talented competition. You could see that Gannon was not able to use skills that would have won him the fight much easier.
It is tiring to see Kimbo beating on guys that clearly aren’t his match. I want to see him fighting big guys in an ultimate fighting league, and then we can discuss his talents.
That said, I sure wouldn’t want to upset the man. He’s as thick as a bloody cinder block, and likely as difficult to bruise.

Black vs White, Mexican vs white you dumbasses are so pre-occupied with race it’s sad. It was two warriors battling it out and Gannon happened to come out on top. Gannon is no push over he’s a MMA fighter FFS. Conditioning ended this fight but if Kimbo was in top shape it still would of been a great fight and gone either way in my opinion. Good lesson for Kimbo and will make him an even better fighter now.

i dunno, its debateable that he lost this one…. yes he was on the mat, but, Gannon looked a hell of a lot worse than he did! but a lot less bad than the other guys who have fought kimbo in the past, and God knows they didn’t put up even close to the same quality of match as Gannon so, in the end it is tough to say…..definitely if kimbo was in better shape he’d have won though, any punch after the 3min mark was worthless, im no tough guy and i think i coulda taken those punches, and everybody talked so much about Tank kicking his ass, and look what happened, i think that proves the following: kimbo can stand up with the best of em, well the best of power punchers anyway… a quick puncher and a guy who can actually duck and weave properly, and kimbo might gas himself just trying to land one….but there’s no doubt in my mind that he cannot throw down with the chuck lidells, rampage jacksons, forrest griffin, DEFINITELY not a Fedor or Anderson silva, basically, he needs to keep fighting tier 2-3 fighters to have a chance, if he steps up to any REAL good pro fighters, im afraid kimbo will have his ass handed to him, unless of course, he lands a big one, cause it doesn’t matter who you are, if he clocks you and then pounces on you while you’re stunned, youre being mauled by a bear and you won’t be able to handle it

Freekin great fight. top shelf as far as unsanctioned brawls go. OK heres how it went down.They should have abided by the NO KNEES rule..(if theyre was even one, or if Kimbos zoo chew made that up that very moment…) Either way looked fair to me.
